That’s a Wrap!

And to finish up the 2016-2017 season of skating at GSC, here are a few photos from our STARSkate banquet last week.

Congratulations everyone for an amazing year and we hope to see you all next season – unless you’re enrolled in Spring Skate…then we’ll see you this week!

Thank You Everyone!

We would like to thank EVERYONE who made the Georgina Skating Club’s 50th Anniversary celebration and Ice Show the success it was!

The following people, businesses and groups deserve special mention:

Baileys Homestead for catering the Alumni Breakfast, Bob at Keswick Flowers & Gifts for donating the flowers for the Alumni Breakfast, snapd Georgina for covering both the Alumni Breakfast and Ice Show, Living in Georgina for helping us promote our 50th, Sabine for buying all the decorations and decorating the hall, Karen for getting all the alumni organized, Monica for choreographing the alumni number, Steve for taking and organizing photos, current and former members of the club for volunteering and the GSC board members & coaches for their tireless efforts.

But most importantly, thank you to our skaters; both current and returning alumni. You all performed wonderfully and put on a great show for your families and friends!

We’ll see everyone at the next reunion!

Annual General Members Meeting

This is your chance to come out and get involved with the Georgina Skating Club!

Don’t miss this opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes and ask any questions you may have about the Georgina Skating Club. Our meeting will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Georgina Ice Palace, starting at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 5th. See you there!

50 Anniversary Alumni Events

Just a reminder for alumni of the Georgina Skating Club, the Keswick Figure Skating Club and the North Gwillimbury Figure Skating Club, there’s a little less than a week remaining to register to take part in the Club’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations during Ice Show weekend – April 28/29.

There are two scheduled events happening for former members:
A meet, greet and reminisce Saturday morning breakfast at the Ice Palace for former skaters, parents and coaches – and then during Ice Show, there will be an Alumni number for former skaters!
Whether you want to take part in the breakfast or Ice Show or both, click here to get more information and to register online!

We also have a 50th Anniversary Facebook Group you can join!
Members of the group have been posting fabulous photos and memories from the past.

If you have any questions, reach out to us at:

We look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks!

Jump Into Spring Tomorrow!

Just a reminder that there will be no regular skating programs on Saturday, April 1st because we’re all taking part in Jump Into Spring; a fun way to cap off the skating season!

Starting at 8AM, our STARSkaters will be showcasing the skills they’ve been working on all year, through min-competitions, skating their solos, creative interpretation skating and then our Elementary Ice-Ations Synchronized skating team will perform a demonstration!

To top it all off, starting at 11:30, ALL our members are welcome to join us for a family skate! This includes Intro, CanSkate, CanHockey and our STARSkaters.

For the specific times of each event, please download the Jump Into Spring schedule.

Elementary Ice-Ations Cap-off Season

Special mention goes out to our Elementary Ice-Ations synchro team for a fun season of skating! We are very proud of what this team has accomplished this year.

And when you consider most of the girls had never participated in synchro before, that makes this season an even bigger accomplishment!  We hope all the girls had fun competing in the last competition of the year this past Saturday at the Bernie Deveau-Bert Winfield Invitational in Chatham.

Watch for the website and social media for tryout information in the next couple of weeks!

Thanks to Coach Colline for the photo.
