Skater Parent /Guardian Survey – Return to Competition

As we look ahead to the 2020-2021 season, we know that it will look and feel different. We appreciate that with so many unknowns, it may be difficult for you as a parent or guardian to decide if you are comfortable with your skater returning to the ice for competition.

Please take the time to complete the following survey before July 12, 2020.  The survey is designed to measure your level of comfort in your skater returning to competition for the 2020-2021 season in Ontario.

Click here to complete the survey.

Thank you and Happy Canada Day!

Closure Update

Hi skating families,

We hope this message finds you all safe and healthy. We just wanted to check in and keep you up to date with what is happening with the Club. We have continued to stay in close contact with The Town of Georgina so we could best inform you of how things will proceed in regards to our programming. Unfortunately, due to the continued spread of COVID-19, the town has made the decision to close all recreational facilities until June 30th. This of course means that our Spring sessions will be cancelled. For anyone that had already registered your registration has been withdrawn and scheduled payments cancelled. For those that had pre paid we have refunded your account.

In regards to the Ice Show and winter season, we wanted to catch you up on what has been done…

Ice Show

Every skater that registered for Ice Show has been credited the amount paid to their account. This credit will carry over and be available to you when you register for your next session.

Winter session

As far as the missed lesson at the end of March, unfortunately we will not be able to issue refunds or credits. We will be treating the missed session in the same way we would for sessions missed due to inclement weather, as the cancellation was out of our control.

We know that this is an extremely hard time for everyone and we hope that all of our members are healthy and safe. We encourage you to please continue to follow all regulations set by public health. Stay home, only go out for essentials, practice social distancing, and wash your hands often.  Let’s beat this and get back to what we love…

*Please note that if you are not planning on returning we would ask that you contact us at and we will be happy to accommodate on a case by case basis.

It is with the deepest regret that we must inform all members that our annual Ice Show has been cancelled.  Due to closures and mandates imposed by both the Provincial and Federal governments in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, Skate Canada made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel all sanctioned events which, unfortunately, includes our Ice Show.

We ABSOLUTELY understand how disappointed everyone will be with this news. Please know that we share this sentiment; however, we also understand the seriousness of the current health crisis our country is facing, so we stand with their decision.

We know you will have many questions including what will happen to fees paid for this event and we ask for your patience.  As this is an unprecedented and extremely fluid situation for GSC, we need time to sort details. We must also await further information from the Town of Georgina to advise us when the arena will be accessible to us again.

Further, both our Annual General Members Meeting (AGM) scheduled for April 15, 2020, and our Starskate banquet are postponed and will be rescheduled for a date to be determined. We will continue to update you regarding these events so please watch our website and social media for further information.

A sincere thanks goes to all members for your support in this challenging time.  Rest assured the health and well-being of all our skating families remains our top priority.

Georgina Skating Club Board of Directors & Coaches

Due to the recent announcements regarding COVID-19, the Town of Georgina has made the decision to close town facilities until April 6, 2020. We regret to inform you that due to these closures we will be cancelling our programs until facilities are re-opened.

We understand that this may be disappointing, however the health and safety of our members is of the utmost importance to us. We will continue to keep in close contact with all parties and will inform members via our media outlets and email as information becomes available.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding facility closures, please contact the Town of Georgina. For questions regarding club programming please email
