Adult/Teen Skate

What is the Adult/Teen program?

This program is for skaters 14 years and older. It is suitable for beginners to experienced skaters looking to get back on to the ice.

Each class is 50 minutes to 1 hour in length and is fully coached. A typical session involves group lessons for approximately half the session, followed by time to work on individual goals, supervised by our Skate Canada certified coaches.

For the 2026/2027 season-we will be offering an Adult/Teen session for all levels on Thursday nights. Adult/Teen skaters may also register for a 40 minute off ice class to compliment their on ice work. Advanced adult skaters (working on Star 4 or higher levels skills) can register for the Saturday morning session shared with our Gold StarSkate skaters. Please contact our Program Co-ordinator for more information
(info@georginaskatingclub.org).

What equipment do skaters require?

  1. Skates: either figure or hockey skates are recommended. Please take the time to have your skates fitted properly and ensure new skates have been sharpened before your 1st session. Stability attachments on blades are not permitted, nor are chairs or other skating aids.
  2. If you are a beginner or have not completed the equivalent of the CanSkate program, a CSA approved hockey helmet is mandatory. Bicycle or skiing helmets are not acceptable.

Who is on the ice with the skaters?

All Georgina Skating Club programs are taught by coaches certified with Skate Canada and the Coaching Association of Canada. They are also First Aid certified.

What is the Skate Canada membership fee?

All skaters must be registered with Skate Canada prior to taking to the ice. The annual membership fee for the 2026/2027 season will be $65.70. This annual Skate Canada membership and insurance is valid from September 1st 2026 to August 31st 2027. This fee is 100% non-refundable.
